I’m currently listening to the sensational third season of Over My Dead Body: Fox Lake, a true crime podcast by Wondery. The narrator tells the true tale of a small town cop who is found dead – shot twice in the chest – near a local swamp back in the summer of 2015 . At first, the victim is lauded as a stand-up hero who died in the line of duty, but slowly investigators uncover uncomfortable truths about the murdered man. A failing marriage, cocaine found in the policeman’s office, and unhappy locals may all be part of the story… or red herrings.
Wondery also produced Dr. Death and the Shrink Next Door, both of which I also recommend.
