The COVID Commandments

Nearly a year ago, as a special treat, we purchased tickets to see the musical Hamilton as a family. When COVID hit, the show was canceled. After a year of enjoying the songs, we decided to channel our enthusiasm into a parody doubling as a public service announcement for social distancing…

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine

It's the COVID Commandments

It's the COVID Commandments

Number one: touching my face provides satisfaction
It also spreads corona so I cannot take this action

Number two: I cannot hug my friend, not one second
Even though I love her it's our health I would be wreckin'

Number three: I should not venture to a public place
If people start to congregate it's better to avoid that space
Some businesses are open and my barber's in cahoots
But I won't risk death just to color my roots!

Number four: I used to love my teachers in the classroom
At least I get to see them and my friends when we have Zoom
I read in advance, I study what's ahead of me
And now my best professor is the dude from Khan Academy

Five: Use a mask when you go outside
Stay six feet apart from the nearest guy

Number six: Use Purell on your exposed skin
Keep a bottle in your pocket
Pray that dermatitis won't set in

Seven: COVID has me feeling grouchy
But I'm still going to listen to Dr. Fauci

Number eight: Home-cooked meals are starting to taste great
Help yourself to seconds, and then help the chef clean the plates

Number nine: Treat your mother like she's a queen
Try your best to keep from acting mean
Then count
One two three four
Five six seven eight nine
Number
Ten
Quarantine!
