What is Family on
the Edge?
We are a coaching practice that offers support and resources
to empower the individual and strengthen their relationships
in families facing adversity, both the expected and unexpected.
We coach you through a process of inquiry and personal discovery
that will increase your awareness and accountability. This
untangling and unhooking from unmet expectations, disappointments
and fears opens the door to show you that what lies ahead
are indeed life opportunities for new beginnings.
The coaching services we provide are focused on you, the
client and are results oriented. We operate with the premise
that you have all the knowledge and resources, including the
ability to discover and utilize tools and insights to create
and be the individual you want to be and to have your family
relationship be rewarding and fulfilling.
What does “Turning Heartbreak into
New Beginnings” mean?
Many times as individuals, partners and families we experience
“heartbreak” because life isn’t happening
the way we thought it might or thought it should. Our disappointment,
sadness, fear or anger results in a heartbreak of sorts. We
believe it is that very heartbreak that can be the catalyst
for discovery and recovery in a way that the heart not only
heals but also is fuller and more accepting.
Is Family on the Edge only for those
facing adversity or some sort of hardship?
Absolutely not. Our purpose is to provide the support, tools
and facilitation for family’s to grow and strengthen
the family relationship. We know that strong family connections
can create the resiliency for the individual members and the
family as a whole to deal with all of the surprises, challenges
and unpredictability that life hand us at any given time.
The ideal clients for Family On The Edge are folks that are
family oriented, respectful, truthful, hopeful, forgiving
and have a sense of humor. In short, we work best with people
who want the best for themselves and their families and are
willing to do what it takes to make it happen.
How is coaching different than therapy
and counseling? Coaching is forward focused and targeted
at closing the gap between where you are today and where you
want to be. It is a partnership between coach and client where
the coach requires you to stretch (sometimes beyond your comfort
zone) in order to achieve your goals. Together the coach will
help you explore your current attitudes, beliefs, and perspectives
that are directing your behaviors and help you discern what
may be getting in your way to be where you want to be. Coaching
starts from the premise that you, the client, are healthy,
highly functioning, resourceful and whole. Together we work
on goals that come straight from YOU.
Does everyone need a therapist? No. But could everyone benefit
from the support of a coach to reach their goals and provide
necessary support? Absolutely!
As a client, what can I expect from Family
on the Edge?
Whether in individual or family coaching or in the teleclasses
and workshops we offer, we provide a safe space for you to
explore and evaluate where you are today and identify the
underlying issues so you can develop your path for discovery
and solutions.
The inquiry based coaching will not only address your heartbreak
or adverse situation, it will provide you tools, experiences
and resources to sustain and grow your relationship with your
self, your family and your community.
How long does the coaching relationship
last?
It varies by individual and the situation. The most accurate
answer is it lasts as long as it meets the needs of the client.
In our experience, most coaching relationships require an
initial commitment of at least three months from the clients.
One objective of coaching is to provide and assist the client
to establish habits of personal inquiry and accountability.
The ultimate goal being that eventually the coach is no longer
necessary as you have the tools and resources to “self”
coach.
How will I know if working with Family
on the Edge is right for me?
We believe that everyone can benefit from coaching. That said,
however, our ideal clients are individuals that are family-oriented,
respectful, and honest and have a genuine desire and commitment
to align who they are and their actions with their values.
We work best with people that are willing to explore and
be truthful, even when it is new and uncomfortable; people
that are willing to take accountability for themselves and
for their relationships.
We also look for individuals who have a good sense of humor
and who are not afraid to try something new in their relationships
in order to improve them. Is that you?
Is Family on the Edge available to make
presentations and/or conduct workshops for schools, groups
and/or associations?

the opportunity to present our services to community and corporate
groups and associations. In addition, we can create programs
and workshops tailored to address the specific topics of interest
to the group. Please contact
